Meghan Trainor’s Title

I am not one for modern pop. I'm more into the Indi-Rock & Singer/Songwriter scene. But just like most of you, "All About That Bass" crept its way into our HOME.
The more I heard it, the more I liked it. The thing that stood out for me was the overall MESSAGE of NOT having that Barbie doll image that has become the unhealthy cultural obsession & being proud of it.
Then, "Lips Are Moving" snuck its way into the household and its irresistibly catchiness was undeniable. By the time "Dear Future Husband" came knocking, it included luggage, which prompted me to actually go out & by the album.
In this day & age of single downloads, full albums do not get much attention at all. But in this case, the album in question, "Title", deserves a lot of attention. Each track is more inserting & catchy than the last.
Meghan Trainor's breakthrough record kicks down the door of the Pop genre and brings with it an onslaught of musical pleasure for the ears.
Even if her entertaining videos were absent, the album itself, is a throwback to the Doowop era. Being that she had a hand in writing, singing, playing many instruments as well as executive producing this masterpiece, gives credibility to Trainor for bringing a style that was all but dead, back to life with an updated make over.
What's really impressive is not only Trainor's unforgettable melodies but her use of such instruments as horns, piano & even an upright bass.
Trainor has concocted the perfect recipe for the best album, from start to finish, that I've heard in a long time. Splashing in a dash of humor at just the right spot as well as modern storytelling to spice up the cliché subjects of chasing love, ending love and making them feel brand new.
Breathing new life back into the flatlining Pop scene, she leaves you excited & anxious as to what she will come up with next.
Until next time,
Thanks for reading!
