“Sit & Remember”

We have all lost loved ones. It seems so long ago that they were a daily part of our life. When their time comes, we are devastated. We don't know how we will live life without them. As time goes on, it seems we find a way to keep going. We get married, we buy a house, we have a couple of kids. The next thing we know, the kids are graduating and it seems like a lifetime ago those loved ones were there. We try not to think about it too much because of the pain, because of the emptiness it left, because of the longing feeling that they were still here.

Sometimes, we need to stop and just...remember them. Remember how it felt when you saw them walk in the room. Remember the laughter. The laughs that they caused and just the sound of their laughter. Remember the secrets that were shared, the secrets that were kept. Remember the touch of their hand. Remember how they were there in the good times and the bad. Sure it may bring those feelings back but sometimes we need that. We need that relief of holding all that inside. Some days we just need to Sit & Remember.
