“Samuel & Ruth”

We have all seen Samuel & Ruth hard at work. Some of us have even interacted with them at the market. We drive down their roads, we see their kids going to school, we see them working in the fields. If you're lucky like my family, you've vacationed among them in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where there are 30,000 others just like them.

Just like anything there is a lot of, each one gets lost in the shuffle. Too many times, we often forget that they are individuals. We should all take a cue from Samuel & Ruth and learn to slow down a bit. Take the time to get to know everyone we come in contact with. If we took the time to learn a person's name, we are less likely disrespect them. Samuel & Ruth are hard working people. They have a beautiful farm and amazing children. Their family work hard for what they have and take pride in it, as they should. They would give you the shirt off their back if they thought you needed it. When a barn burns down, Samuel & Ruth are the first ones there to help you rebuild it, and they will have it completed by the end of the day. Speaking of the end of the day, Samuel & Ruth will then go into the kitchen and make you the tastiest, heartiest meal you've ever had, and from scratch too.

Samuel & Ruth are hard working, discipline, religious, friendly and role models. They are Amish and I have yet to meet anyone more interesting.
