“Hale The Woman”

Political divide is nothing new in this country. We have been dealing with it for a long time and we will continue to deal with it for a long time. However, I ponder if everyone reading this is up for the challenge. For one day, let us not speak of our politics. Let us put our differences aside and be thankful that the people around our Thanksgiving table are in our lives. Let us all be united and raise a glass to the woman known as The Mother Of Thanksgiving, Sarah Josepha Hale.

Read about the number of other things we continue to do because of this great woman of history in “Influencer Of The Victorian Era” brought to you by Not Phade Away™: Forgotten Stories Of Philadelphia.

This country is politically divided. There are strong supporters on both sides that are so angry with one another. Some of the more extreme ones see the their opposing side as less than human and treat them that way. They will go out of their way to make sure their opponents feel as uncomfortable and threatened as possible. It has bled into our homes and ripped our families apart. We need something that will mend our differences, something that is greater than our political views, something that will Unite these States once again. We need something that will erase political and geographic lines. We need to reunite The North and The South. Luckily, one woman has been running a tireless campaign, though her editorials, through letters to four U.S. Presidents, congressmen and anyone of importance. Abraham Lincoln knows that this day, that a strong-headed woman is fighting for, is just the thing to bring both sides back together. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln immortalizes Sarah Josepha Hale when he solidifies a National Federal Holiday out of Thanksgiving.
