“Where Are You Headed?”

“Sometimes, on the way to your dreams, you get lost and you find new ones.”
~ Maya Gallo
When we were kids, we all had a dream of growing up and being something in particular. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a radio disc jockey. To get paid to listen to and share my favorite music would be a dream come true. When I got ready to look at colleges, I asked for advice from a professional disc jokey and he made one statement that changed my life. “Find another profession”. He explained it’s not as fun as I had originally thought. Apparently, you don’t get to pick the music you play and you constantly travel looking for work. So, there I was, a 17-year-old kid lost. I had tried to travel down other roads but nothing ever worked out. It wasn’t until I was 41 that I found a new, clear path.
We have all had that dream. Unfortunately, life has a way of getting in the way. Everybody has a different road they are on. We never know exactly where our destination is, but we know which way we want to go. Sometimes that road is clear, other times, not so much. When we get to that road, it’s up to US to take that first step. Our decision determines our future. Are we going to take that road, or travel down the same old, familiar road? It will reveal where we wind up. Do we want to stay on the same course we are on? Or do we want to travel the road of our dreams?
I ask you: Where Are You Headed?
