Fox 29’s Bob Kelly came out to Dagwood's Pub in Northeast Philadelphia to tell the good viewers all about the Polish Heritage day celebrating Dyngus Day. I have read many different versions of what Dyngus Day is about. One account told of a baptismal ceremony, another account claims its a celebration of the end of Lent, another account told that it was a celebration of spring. However, the most told account is: “Traditionally, boys throw water over girls on Easter Monday. In some regions they strike them with pussy willow branches”. Whatever the origins, it was one fun party at Dagwood's Pub!
