“The Day I Met Santa”

“Don’t, for a moment, think you’ve been passed by
I see your work and my how it has grown
You entertain and encourage people
With every piece it’s shown
Your work is appreciated around the world
People pay attention now, as they should
So, I ‘m asking you in particular
To do me a favor and deliver a message if you would

Tell the folks what I’m telling you
I’m tidying up my list
I’m no fool, I know the naughty from the nice
I’m adding final touches and wrapping up my gifts

I had an unforgettable day hanging out at the North Pole. It’s the busiest time of the year for them. As they were working their little bells off, I tried my best to stay out of their way. Before I left though, Santa and his head elf pulled me aside. They apologized for not getting to spend more time with me because of the Christmas rush. I told them it was understandable and that it was an honor just to be in their presents (<- Ya see what I did there? 😉 ). Santa laughed with that legendary “Ho Ho Ho”. He then pulled me in close and said in a determined tone.

So busy, in fact, that I’m sending this final reminder
Through someone I can confide in
Someone that works hard
Your work is something you take pride in

Tell the kids, young and old
To listen carefully with their two ears
Tell them Santa and his Elves say
Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year”

Then they were gone, back to work. I had to head home and get back to work myself. But I’ll never forget The Day I Met Santa!
