(Look for the actual photo to be released next week)

As the Covid-outbreak was ramping down, my family and I decided to take a few days for R&R. So, we headed to our favorite spot in the world, Lancaster County. I am on a mission, right now, to add iconic scenery to my Lancaster County Collection. Although very cliché, I want to add my artistic spin to most of the tourist spots. On a cold December morning in 2020, I set my sight s on The Strasburg Rail Road Station. I pulled into the lot only to find Covid tents erected all over. I’m all for keeping people safe, but that’s not the photograph I had dreamed up. This proves that not all planned out trips go as calculated. For this very reason, I always have a back-up plan. I was forced to aim at another target....for now. Although I was unable to shoot this gorgeous location on this day, I knew that I would be back to catch that train again.

Now, here I am on a cold November morning, 39° cloudy morning. It’s 5:30am, there is no sign of the sun yet. I pull into the dark parking lot and find a place to park that will not be in the way of my shot. The station does not open until 10am. I figured the trains are not running so there is absolutely no danger of being hit by one. I get my shot all planned out, set up my tri-pod and wait for JUST the right moment to snap away. Just after I snap this shot, a lone car pulls up next to where I am and a man gets out and walks towards me. He has come to tell me that I am not allowed on the tracks for safety purposes. I politely apologize and explained my thought process to him. He just gives me a look like he wishes he could let me stay there, but we both know I can’t. I am not one to disrespect people of authority. After all, you never know when you may work with them again. So, as I was asked, I moved off the tracks. I am not one to get stay off track of my focus and my focus was set on this railway scene. I tried setting up in various other positions, but nothing else looked as good as this. I HAD to use this shot! With that, I added another iconic photograph to my Lancaster County Collection. I can’t wait for you to see how this came out! Pleases stay tuned and let me know what you think of the shot next week.
